fleece lined bean boot
Just arrived and had to assemble the shoe laces to the boot. I have had bean boots for over 20 years now. I am disappointed to find the quality of the lace has been down graded, it is much more thin and less strong, in addition instead of a sturdy plastic coating on the ends for lacing, it looks like they now just spray some kind of substance on the ends. Some are applied ok, some other ends the application is a bit sparse.
question- Is it really necessary to even downgrade the quality of the shoe lace to save a few cents??
Secondly, the exclusion of lace hooks at the top really makes it more difficult to get a snug lace closure, since the leather is a bit stiff.
question- why do you not put those great lace hooks on the top of these boots, pricewise, they are on the upper end of your boot line. It really is a big miss here.
The boot is a bit too wide for my foot so I will use a thicker sock to make up the difference.
Overall, I have tried several types of bean boots over the years in an attempt to replace the former great storm chaser model. Thought this might be a good option, but I am already missing some of the small things that make your boots really great.
If I decide to keep the boots, I will be purchasing better grade laces. The hooks I cannot do much about. So that disappointment prevails.
Coulda, woulda, shoudla here with the small details, that make a big difference.

Great Boot for New England Winters
With the ever changing weather of our Vermont winters, these fleece lined boots are just perfect. The fleece lining adds warmth to the already great & versatile LL Bean boot. And the blue gray color is a nice option.
